*PARKER CHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 175306. Beautiful shotgun built on a #2 frame with 32″ Acme steel bbls choked FULL/IMP-MOD with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is beautifully engraved with vignettes of a pointer on point on the left side, a setter on point on the right side & a spectacular relief engraved white tail buck in a woodland scene on the floorplate surrounded by about 75% coverage beautiful foliate arabesque patterns with a fine zig-zag border pattern. It has the maker’s name in a ribbon on each side. Wood is highly figured French walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels, 14-1/8″ over a leather-covered pad. There is a silver initial plate on the bottom of the stock engraved “DOCTOR T S CHENOWETH”. Drop at the heel 2″, drop at the comb 1-3/16″. Weight: 7 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most of a fine professionally restored finish. Receiver retains traces of dark case colors in the very sheltered areas with the balance faded to silver, possibly an old restoration. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang and has light nicks & scratches, otherwise the wood is sound & retains most of a professionally restored finish under an amateur wiped on finish. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bores with some minor scuffing in front of the chambers, possibly the forcing cones have been extended. 5-60407 JR118 (12,500-17,500)
