*RARE PARKER BHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN.

*RARE PARKER BHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 184192. Built on a scarce 1-1/2 frame with rare 32″ Acme steel bbls choked FULL/IMP-MOD with matted rib, sgl bead, and doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is beautifully & unusually engraved for a B grade with about 70% coverage wonderful floral & arabesque patterns with fine chain border. Bouquets of flowers are on each side of the frame with a larger bouquet on the floorplate. Fences, opening lever, top tang & trigger guard are engraved with arabesque patterns & the fences have a sgl raised rib around the circumference. Chamber end of the bbls have a larger matching engraved chain border pattern. Wood is very nicely figured English walnut with full-checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with checkered raised fleur-de-lis side panels, 14-1/4″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Grip cap is inlaid with a large gold oval that is engraved “B.W.” Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun and indicating that it was ordered on Feb. 20, 1919 for “Mr. Bill Williams” (which corresponds with the initials on the grip cap). Letter fully identifies this shotgun with a 2″ pitch, 2-7/8″ chambers (current measurement). Requested chokes were full & 3/4. Other special requests were a 1/4″ cast off heel & toe, flower & scroll engraving and “forend checkered all over”. Price was $225.00. Drop at the heel 2-7/8″, drop at the comb 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 5.2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls retain about 95% strong orig blue turned slightly dull over the forend area. Receiver retains 60-70% thin case colors, brighter in the sheltered areas, turning silver toward the front.
