*RARE PARKER AAHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 190552. Built on a #1 frame with 27-7/8″ orig length Peerless steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with matted rib, dbl red ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is spectacularly full coverage engraved with small vignettes of a white tail buck & doe in a woodland scene on the left side, four very detailed partridge in a woodland scene on the right side, a large oval with two spaniel dog’s heads on the floorplate & two bird dogs on point in a field scene at the front of the receiver. Side front edges of the receiver have the maker’s name in a banner. Very fine diamond & dot borders and full coverage surround all vignettes, very fine, foliate arabesque patterns. Fences, opening lever, top tang, trigger guard, 2-5/8″ up the bbl & a fine band around the muzzles are engraved to match. Fences also have two raised ribs around their circumference. Wood is spectacular flame grain sunburst center crotch cut American walnut with beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock with raised checkered fleur-de-lis carved side panels, 14-1/4″ over an engraved skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Grip cap is smooth horn and there is a gold initial plate on the bottom engraved “G.P.” Drop at the heel 2-5/8″, drop at the comb 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 2.4 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain virtually all of a fine professionally restored finish. Receiver retains traces of case colors in the very sheltered areas with the balance a cleaned silver metal color. Wood is sound & retains virtually all of a high gloss professionally restored finish and may be an old replacement. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. 5-60413 JR123 (20,000-35,000)
