*VERY RARE PARKER AAHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 213794. Built on a #1 frame with 32″ Peerless steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with tapered matted rib, dbl ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & Jurjevic, sgl, non-selective trigger. Receiver is spectacularly engraved with relief vignettes of two flying ducks on the left side, two pintails on the right side and three valley quail on the floorplate in a field scene. All surrounded by full coverage fine floral & foliate arabesque patterns. Top tang has a dove on a limb. Fences have a dbl raised scallop around the back edges. Engraving extends about 2-1/4″ up over the chambers with a narrow band at the muzzle. It is mounted with very beautiful, streaky marble, cake replacement buttstock with checkered fleur-de-lis raised side panels and straight grip, 14″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Forearm is orig with full coverage checkering. Accompanied by Parker letter identifying this shotgun as having started production in August 1925. No indication of shipment date. It is fully identified except for the stock, which originally was a capped pistol grip. It states that “It featured the optional sgl trigger noting that it be placed in the front position.” The Jurjevic trigger is possibly the orig as there is no indication of ever having had a selector switch. Drop at the heel 2-3/8”, drop at the comb 1-1/2”. Bore restrictions: left – .020, right – .024. Weight: 7 lbs, 5.5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-97% strong bright blue that may be an old restored finish. If so, it is very professional. Receiver retains 20-30% muted orig case colors, primarily around the back edges & left side with the balance faded to silver. Stock is sound with minor nicks & scratches and retains most of its custom finish. Forearm is dark & oil stained showing light to moderate wear. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores. 5-60395 JR473 (30,000-50,000)
