SCARCE COLT BURGESS LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 6165. Standard grade rifle with 25-1/2″ oct bbl, full magazine, Rocky Mountain front sight & orig semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has straight grain American walnut wood, uncheckered, with straight stock & crescent buttplate with trap. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl, magazine tube & forend cap retain a mottled gray/brown patina with light pitting. Receiver & lever have been cleaned bright and have light pitting. Hammer & buttplate are a silvery/brown patina. Wood is sound, even the forearm, and retains most of an old refinish. Lever spring is a little loose; otherwise mechanics are fine. Strong dark bore that should clean better. 4-55152 JR220 (1,500-3,000)
