BROWN BESS TYPE MUSKET. Cal. 74. 50-5.8” part oct bbl. This is probably an American Committee of Safety musket because it has a Brown Bess style stock, a 6-5/8” banana lock and brass furniture from several sources. No marks are visible. CONDITION: Rust/brown patina overall with heavy to extreme pitting around the breech and lockplate. Stock has been repaired, sanded and refinished with some wear and cracks since the refinish.
