JAPANESE NAGANATA. 13 ½” Blade having red lacquered grooves, ubu nakago that is signed “MASATOSHI”. SIZE: 22 ½” long overall. MOUNTS: Black lacquered saya. CONDITION: Blade rough, edge is ragged and heavily nicked in the monouchi area, has several wari (forging openings) as well. Saya has many chips to the lacquer. This is the frail type usually referred to as a woman’s naganata and of late 19th century vintage. No pole. 4-54992-5 GA21 (100-200)
