JAPANESE WWII MARINE GENDAITO SWORD. 26 1/8” shinogi zukuri blade. Choji midare hamon slanting back at the yakidashi. Hada is muji. Signed “AKIHISA” and dated “DECEMBER 1942” with the star stamp. SIZE: 38 ½” long overall. MOUNTS: Complete early Marine with two-button release. CONDITION: Blade very good polish with only a bit of tiny rust specks. Mounts complete except for the usual missing tassel. A little scabbard damage between the ashi and koiguchi. Cracks and chips to the heavy textured lacquered finish otherwise good used condition. A true well made gendaito in reasonably nice condition. 4-54992-17 GA33 (800-1,200)
