FRAMED EDDIE RICKENBACKER MATERIAL. 36-1/2” x 24-1/2” aluminum frame containing two letters from Rickenbacker on Eastern Airlines stationary dated 1937 & 1938. There are also orig photos of Eastern Airlines airplanes with the name in script “The Great Silver Fleet” painted over the five passenger windows on one plane and six passenger windows on the DC2. There are a number of postcards, photos, newspaper clippings, ticket stubs, etc, all relating to Rickenbacker. The biography from a newspaper dated 6 June, 1937 covers his history. He was a quintuple ace in WWI. In 1918 alone, he shot down 26 German airplanes while flying with the “Hat – in – the – Ring” squadron. Although he served as General Pershing’s chauffer, he never has a driver’s license. CONDITION: Some foxing and staining. Generally very good to fine. 4-54863 FS321 (500-800)
