SCARCE FIRST MODEL SMITH & WESSON .38 NEW DEPARTURE REVOLVER IN OB. SN 357. Cal. .38 S&W. 3-3/8” ribbed rnd bbl. The orig red cardboard box has the SN in pencil on the bottom. The first model for “Z-Bar” new departure is difficult to find with any condition. CONDITION: 95% orig finish with spots of light surface rust on the blue of the trigger guard and the nickel of the frame. Grips are fine but slightly dirty. Box is scuffed with one blown corner on the lid and two on the base. Fractured area on the bottom but all pcs are present. Appears to be rodent damage at the top of the lining. Gun is mechanically fine. 4-54045 X180 (1,000-2,000)
