RARE HALL SOCKET BAYONET. Usual configuration with 16″ triangle shaped blade, marked “US” and with inspector initials “XC”. It has a 3″ socket with about an 11/16″ hole. Stamped on the back edge “33”. These were the bayonets used with the Hall rifle for the period 1816-1850. CONDITION: Good to very good. Light surface discoloration with moderate spots of pitting, with some brown patina on the shank. A rare bayonet in decent condition. 4-54323 JR298 (400-700)
