T. BLAND & SONS DBL BBL HAMMER SHOTGUN. Cal. 8 bore. SN 13554. Massive hammer dbl with nitro-proved steel bbls that have dbl lump and doll’s head extension. It has a smooth concave rib with single bead and the makers name and address near the chamber end. It has a massive round action with back-action locks that have the makers name on each side with geometric patterns around the hinge pin and light border engraving patterns. It is mounted in highly figured honey and chocolate French walnut wood with black insert, full checkered forearm and straight stock 14-1/4″ over a collapsed, solid red rubber pad. Weight 12 lbs, 13.6 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about 95% strong original blue with a couple small scrapes and slight thinning over the carry point with light wear at the chamber end. Receiver retains about 75% case hardening with faded colors and the balance turned silver. Lock plates retain about 35% fading case colors with the balance turned silver. Wood is sound, showing light to moderate wear and a few light handling marks and retains most of a fine oil finish on the buttstock with the forearm turned dark.
