WINCHESTER FIRST MODEL HOTCHKISS NAVY MUSKET. Cal. 45-70. SN 1375. Standard musket with 20 3/4” rnd bbl, square base front sight/bayonet lug, ski-jump rear sight. Usual markings with “US” and anchor over the chamber area. Has a 1-pc walnut stock with slotted head ramrod and sling & stacking swivels. An original type leather sling accompanies it. CONDITION: Good to very good. Metal retains a smooth light gray patina overall. Stock has a crack and missing chip around the cut off, otherwise is sound and has light handling and use marks. Mechanics are fine. Strong bright bore with light pitting. 4-52218 JR65 (500-1,000)
