FACTORY ENGRAVED MERWIN & HULBERT 2ND MODEL FRONTIER ARMY SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Cal appears to be 44 M&H. SN 12697. Original nickel finish, factory engraved with starbursts, flowers and vines covering 30-40% of the frame, cylinder and bbl. The sideplate has a Mexican eagle and the right side of the frame a dog’s head in a circle. It has 7” bbl with integral pinched front sight, open top with scooped flute cylinder. It also has very nice old pearl grips. CONDITION: Worn with traces of original finish remaining in very sheltered areas and fine pitting overall. Sideplate engraving is very faint. Mechanics are loose and need attention, the bore is worn and dark. Grips are fine with lots of fire and a couple of minor chips on the bottom edges. 4-51270 JR13 (1,500-2,500)
