SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-70. SN 445192. Standard carbine with 22” bbl, square base front sight and Buffington rear sight. It has a 1-pc carbine stock with sling bar and ring on left side, carbine butt with trap. The bbl band is grooved to accommodate the rear sight. CONDITION: Good to very good. Medium to dark brown patina overall with pitting on the breechblock, obliterating the date. Stock is sound showing heavy wear and moderate handling and use marks. Good mechanics and bright shiny bore. This would make an excellent reenactment gun. 4-52274 JR114 (800-1,200)
