MANHATTAN PEPPERBOX AND OTHER ITEMS. 1) Cal. .31. SN 73. 4″ fluted bbl. Marked “MANHATTAN F.A. MFG CO / NEW.YORK” on the left side of the hammer. 2) Large stamped leather cartridge block. Circa War of 1812 with stamped “SONS” on the flap. There are twelve 3/4″ holes and another with a smaller diameter plug. The leather is tacked to the wooden block but the edges are all sewn. 3) 7-5/8″ pine bullet board containing six .38 caliber patch balls. 4) .50 caliber brass bullet mold. 5) Brass bullet mold casting two .38 caliber and one .52 caliber balls. CONDITION: 1) Gray/brown patina with scattered light pitting and surface rust. The grips are worn. The mainspring screw is a replacement but the action works okay. 2) The flap seam has been repaired and is mostly loose, the belt loop is good, the catch loop is flaked and nearly torn in two. 3) Partially cracked lengthwise, very dirty. 4) Missing the handles.
