*RARE MARLIN MODEL 94 TRAPPER CARBINE. Cal. 44-40. SN 429499. Rare 15” carbine with full-length magazine, square base front sight and carbine ladder rear sight. The receiver has a staple and ring in the left side and the ring has been wrapped with tape. It has uncheckered American walnut wood with straight stock and carbine buttplate. Accompanied by an original Treasury Dept. Form 4467, dated November 29, 1968, identifying this rifle and registering it to Mr. Owens. This carbine is now considered a curio & relic. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 90-92% original blue, thin over the forearm area and a spot or two further up the bbl. Receiver retains 85-90% original blue, thinned on the sides and with a small, cleaned area on the bottom. Lever retains 20-25% case colors with the balance turned silver. Buttplate retains 70-75% original blue. Wood is sound with numerous small nicks, dings and handling marks and retains most of an old amateur re-varnish. Fine mechanics, strong bright bore with light pitting toward the chamber end. 4-52479 JR263 (3,000-5,000)
