CUSTOM WINCHESTER HIGH WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. SN 2770. Short, handy little rifle, 22” rnd P.O. Ackley bbl, Williams style ramp front sight, no rear sight, with a modern tang sight. It has custom wood with checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with thin rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains most of its fine custom blue with a couple of dings on the receiver and four tiny plugged holes on the right side, apparently from an old Lyman sight. This receiver very likely came from a Winder musket. Wood is straight grained with coarse checkering and retains most of an old oil finish. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-51566 JR766 (1,000-1,500)
