MEACHAM CONVERSION SHARPS RIFLE. Cal 45 2-1/10. SN C43291. Typical Meacham Conversion with 28-1/4”tapered rnd bbl marked “OLD RELIABLE” with Bridgeport address. It has a homemade blade front sight and standard Lawrence marked ladder rear sight. It has uncheckered forearm with schnable tip secured with two screws. It is converted from a military carbine and has the plugged hole on left side of the receiver. The stock appears to be a replacement and has a checkered wrist with military style buttplate. It has double-set triggers. CONDITION: About very good. Bbl retains a dark plum-brown patina with traces of blue in the very sheltered areas and scattered patches of heavy pitting. Receiver is a mottled silver-brown patina with light pitting and the lockplate is silvered dark case colors. Stock has a hairline at the wrist, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. Good mechanics with strong bright bore and moderate pitting. 4-51592 JR852 (1,500-2,500)
