SMITH CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal .50. 21-5/8” part oct bbl. Made by American Machine Works. ‘”JH” and “LTR” cartouches faint on the left side of the stock. Front sight replaced. SN 2434. CONDITION: Mostly blue gray patina with traces of original blue in protected places and on the latch. 20% casehardening colors on the frame. All surfaces with light to moderate pitting. Buttplate has been cleaned but some light pitting remains. Wood has normal dents and gouges. Several screws are replaced. Bore is bright. 4-49737 FS43 (1,250-1,750)
