*ENGRAVED REMINGTON MODEL 11-48 SC SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. Reportedly owned by the president of Remington Arms, this fine shotgun has a 25” vent ribbed bbl, choked skeet and is spectacularly engraved by Arnold Griebel. Receiver has full coverage engraving with the left panel in a woodland scene of two gold hounds chasing three gold rabbits. Left panel is a beautifully detailed woodland and field scene with two gold pointers pointing five gold quail. All surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns that has a very fine punched dot background. Each side and the grip cap has gold wire border inlays. The entire top of the receiver and 2-3/4” over the chamber, as well as the trigger guard and grip cap, are engraved to match. Wood is checkered, extremely fine grain deluxe walnut. Buttstock is 14” over the original Remington hard rubber buttplate. SN 4108604.
