SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1 FIRST ISSUE 3RD TYPE REVOLVER. Cal. 22 Short. Scarce revolver with 3-3/16” ribbed oct bbl, German silver front sight, sliver plated brass frame, with square butt and 2-pc rosewood grips. This revolver has the rotating recoil shield and is fitted with the new type spring loaded catch with side projections. SN 1278. CONDITION: Good. All matching including the grips. Frame retains 35-40% original silver plating with the balance a medium mustard patina. Bbl retains 15-20% thin blue mostly in sheltered areas. Cylinder is a medium dark patina with a patent line visible. Poor bore, good mechanics. Grips are sound and retain a fine hand patina. 4-48067 JR156 (Anderson Collection) (1,000-2,000)
