U.S. MODEL 1872 OFFICER’S SWORD. “FD” on either side of a helmet, crossed with a shield, on the left ricasso of the 28-1/2” blade. Folding counter guard catch is broken. Plated iron scabbard with brass fittings. CONDITION: Iron parts are covered with pitting, heavy on the blade, light to moderate on the scabbard. The guard is slightly bent. The wire wrap is missing on the wooden grip. 4-48841 FS188 (300-500)
