MAJOR GENERAL FROCK COAT. Regulation Civil War Major General’s frock coat. Buttons arranged in groups of three, velvet collar, velvet cuffs, shoulder straps with black backgrounds with two embroidered stars on each. Lining is near black, polished and quilted, sleeve lining are white. Pockets inside tails are lined in brown material. Original buttons are” D EVANS & CO. ATTLEBORO, MASS”. Four buttons are replaced; two on face, two on tails with buttons back marked “THOMAS DALE & CO. NEW YORK”. CONDITION: Overall very good. Some mothing to collar, one 1/2” by 1” piece of velvet collar facing is missing. 4-48891 JS46 (7,000-7,500)
