LOT OF COLT 1851 NAVY, BUCKLE AND PHOTO. Cal. 36 perc. Usual Navy configuration with 7-1/2” oct. bbl. Brass grip frame and triggerguard with one-piece walnut grips. It is accompanied by an iron wreath and tongue Civil War era buckle with fouled anchor on the tongue. Also accompanied by a small photograph 3-1/2” by 2-1/4” of a young Naval Ensign or Lt. J. G. in uniform with shoulder boards, wearing gloves and holding his hat under his arm. There is a “2” beneath the serial number on the frame and above the serial number on the barrel lug. SN 126002. CONDITION: About good, retains an overall dark brown patina with heavy rust. The front sight is a replacement. No cylinder scene remains and the serial number on the cylinder is only partially visible. All matching except the wedge which has been recently renumbered. Several screws are replacements. The bore, with good rifling, is dark and pitted. The belt buckle is a dark metal color, appears authentic and period to the mid 1800’s. The photograph is fine. 4-48913 JR733 (2,000-2,500)
