GALLE FIRE POLISHED BISCUIT JAR. Outstanding Art Nouveau biscuit jar has flowing salmon colored flowers, stems and leaves against a salmon shading to cream, shading to salmon background. Jar is beautifully fire polished and exhibits something of a paperweight effect. Jar is finished with a copper and brass collar, handle and lid with the brass handle being a classic Art Nouveau flowing design and the copper lid being chased with high relief Art Nouveau flowers and finished with a brass floral knob. Collar and underside of lid show remnants of silver-plating. Signed on the side in cameo “Galle”. SIZE: 6″ dia x 10″ t to top of handle. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with a small grind mark at edge of foot which appears to be from the making to remove a small air bubble. 5-62327 (1,500-2,000)
