RARE ROOKWOOD PRESENTATION STEIN. This beautiful art glazed stein has painted cherry and sprig decoration around the front. The upper portion of the stein molded with Roman numerals “MDCCCXCIV”. The lower portion of the stein has raised lettering reading “Commercial Club of Cincinnati”. The pewter lid is inscribed with initials “CCC”. Interior of the lid is inscribed in script “To A. Howard Hinkle from the Commercial Club of Cincinnati from W. W. Taylor, President 1894”. The stein is marked on the underside with Rookwood flame mark and carries artist’s initials “MN” for Mary Nourse as well as impressed number “783”. SIZE: Including the thumb lift is 6-3/4” high. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-68004 (1,500-2,000)
