PATENT MODEL ANIMAL TRAP. Patented August 24, 1875 by P. B. Gibbs and Jason Brown #166,927. Ingenious animal trap purported to be self setting. It consists of a wire cage area beside a wooden box housing a clockwork motor that activates a four part paddle that in theory sweeps the animal into the cage. Comes with original patent and receiving tags (lightly creased and stained). SIZE: 12-1/2″ l x 8-1/2″ h x 10-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan.
