PATENT MODEL INVALID BEDSTEAD. Patented February 2, 1858 by George Miller #19,254. Tiger maple hospital bed frame marked with inventor’s name having multiple hinged sections underneath to raise and lower portions of the bed by means of a hand crank on the side (now missing) topped with an upholstered mattress which shows significant melting. Retains original patent tag (creased and torn with detached corners). SIZE: 11-1/2″ l x 6″ w x 6-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan.
