PATENT MODEL ADVERTISING CLOCK. Patented August 29, 1876 by A.P. Ford & L.W. Farrar, #181,661. Wooden case with locking front door in which is set a clockwork motor (no face) and a rotating scroll of paper advertisements which are displayed behind a glass window that would change after a given period of time. Accompanied by original patent tag (torn and taped) as well as another original patent and receiving tag (creased and torn). SIZE: 8″ w x 12″ h x 5-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: The late Terry Wesner collection, Chelsea, Michigan. CONDITION: Good overall. Paper roll is brittle and darkened. Round glass window is cracked. 1-12691 (800-1,200)
