SO-CALLED 1916 F.G. FASHION. Bisque swivel head incised “F+G” with blue paperweight eyes, closed mouth, very pale bisque on separate shoulder plate on gusseted leather body with separately stitched fingers. These dolls are controversial, some said they were made from WWI from old Gaultier molds, while others say they were replicas made in the 1960s. Nevertheless, the gusseted body appears to be slimmer than normally found on genuine antique dolls. Clothing is in the style of 1890s, however relatively recently made. Wig is also a synthetic replacement. SIZE: 17-1/2″ (44cm). CONDITION: Very good. 1-12443 (400-600) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2012 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
