COUNTERTOP FIVE STAR FINAL PINBALL MACHINE. Circa 1930s. The precursor to the modern day pinball machine, which in itself is now becoming an obsolete amusement. Depositing a nickel in the coin slot and pushing the plunger, the player would receive five balls. Carefully, and depending upon the tension of the plunger, he would launch each ball through a series of pins, and hopefully land in the high scoring holes. Depending on the location, one could be sure cash awards were paid out for high scores. This particular machine is encased in a wooden cabinet with a bevy of decals on the facade indicating point value or decoration. As time went on, pinball machines became more elaborate and electric in nature. This is a very nice all-original example of an early pinball machine. SIZE: 17″ w x 31″ l. CONDITION: Overall very fine plus. 1-12272 (400-600)
