SANTA CLAUS GAME OF CHANCE BALL TOSS CARNIVAL GAME. An interesting and unique carnival game, perhaps of English manufacture, a large cast aluminum bust depicting Father Christmas would have sat on a table. The child would drop four balls into Santa’s mouth and by maneuvering a front lever, the balls would be dropped through his chest, come to a final resting place in any one of several numbered columns. The total of the four balls would be added up and as indicated on the wooden play field, winning numbers would be paid out with the corresponding prizes. Other games similar in nature to this such as a frog, but none have the desirability and appeal as this piece. Of unknown manufacture and circa, but most likely from the 1930s or after. Overall finish on Santa as well as on play field appears to be original and unaltered. This unusual piece could benefit greatly by a good cleaning. SIZE: 23″ d x 24″ h x 17″ w. CONDITION: Overall very good plus. 1-12262 (3,500-6,500)
