SALESMAN SAMPLE HAY BALER. Phenomenal piece of early horse powered farm machinery. Larger than most salesman samples, this was likely a display model for the dealership. Two piece model constructed of walnut with heavy cast iron wagon wheels. Oblong chute with windowed sides lets viewer watch the process. Front segment with intricate offset gear and cable mechanism rotates by horse power to push condensed hay through chute with walnut dividers to be wired by hand. SIZE: Main unit measures 70″ l x 20″ h x 24″ w. Gear mechanism measures 68″ l x 17-1/2″ w x 9″ h. CONDITION: Overall very good with years of wear and patina. A few splits to wood. We are unable to assemble unit to make it function properly.
