INTRICATE 2″ SCALE WORKING MODEL CASE TRACTOR. Circa mid-20th Century. Custom built by Ray Schisler of Ontario, Canada and nicknamed by him “Miss Dottie II” after his wife, this scale model is larger than most one will encounter. This elaborate live steam brass and steel tractor is identical in nearly every respect to its full size counterpart. Large spoke wheels support a central boiler emblazoned “Case” on the front with the eagle logo. All proper levers, gears, and gauges add to the appeal of this model. Shows evidence of having been run years ago but we have not tested it. Displayed in a custom gurney type carrier. Appears to be all original and complete. Accompanied by a handwritten letter by Mr. Schisler in his dying days to Marvin Nash to whom he sold the model. The letter details the maker’s suggestions to the new owner for the proper care and maintenance of the engine. The model was then sold in 2004 to the present consignor. SIZE: 40″ l x 15-1/2″ w x 21-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Very good to near excellent. Various paint chips, but this is only a minor drawback to this magnificent model. 1-11251 (10,000-15,000) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2011 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
