KENTUCKY DERBY DICE TRADE STIMULATOR. More than likely this was not a toy, but rather a bar top gambling device. The bar patron would probably place his bet on one of the horses (2-12) and then “roll the dice”. If, by chance, the combination of dice added up to the horse he placed a bet on the bartender/store owner would pay out accordingly. A cheap and nondescript gambling device that could be hidden away under the bar and the claim could be made that this game was strictly for amusement only. Of sturdy construction of wood and metal, there was little that could ever go wrong with this mechanical device. SIZE: 10-1/2″ w x 8-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Overall very fine. Some paint loss to black metal frame. Graphics on top are very fine plus. 1-11272 (200-300) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2011 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
