EARLY AND DESIRABLE SIZE #1 TETE JUMEAU. A great example by the Jumeau firm of a petite cabinet sized bebe with expressive eyebrows, bulbous blue paperweight eyes, finely painted lashes (minute pinpoint coloring miss below one eyelash), furthermore she has pale bisque and delicately outlined lips. Rear of head marked “DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU 1” with the artist’s check mark below. On an earlier style fully jointed composition and wood marked Jumeau body, she retains her original blond mohair wig and cork pate and is dressed in an elaborate bebe outfit with a matching hat. She has a multitude of original garments under her dress. Antique leather shoes are imprinted on base with a boot and the word “DEPOSE”. SIZE: 9-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Bisque head appears to be without damage and overall condition is very fine plus. 1-11450 (6,000-8,000)
