WATLING COUNTERTOP BROWNIE JACKPOT SLOT MACHINE. First introduced in the teens and continuing into the 1920s, this color-wheel machine was on its way out, being replaced by 3-reelers. Added to this particular machine, as opposed to the earlier model, is a visible jackpot to further entice player participation. Up to 6 coins could be played which would guarantee a winner. Payouts varied from 2 coins to 20 or the jackpot. Obviously, the odds/payout increased by playing a color with fewer slots on the tin disk. This machine is in original untouched condition; however, original back door is missing (newer door in place). An oak cabinet with nickel-plated cast-iron trims, this machine was one of the last countertop “one-wheelers” to be produced by any company manufacturing slot machines. SIZE: 16″ w. x 9-1/2″ d. x 26″ h. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good original and working, some peeling to nickel finish on iron head. Left and right front corners of wooden base are marred. 1-10308 (2,500-3,500)
