RARE GERMAN CHARACTER BY SWAINE & CO. Rarely found character incised “B.P. 4” followed by a green circular stamp reading “S & CO. GESCHUTZ GERMANY”. She has blue painted intaglio eyes, open/closed mouth with painted teeth, exquisite modeling on a wood and composition body, dressed in an elaborate multi-layered Eastern European costume. SIZE: 15″ h (39cm). CONDITION: Bisque head very good, minor loss of color on right cheek, torso on doll body severely damaged and in need of replacement. 1-9832 (500-600)
