LARGE PAPIER MACHE NODDER REPRESENTING MOTHER GOOSE. Seated figure of an old lady wearing glasses representing Mother Goose with molded papier mache head. Carton torso with wire armature covered arms and legs. Wearing original clothes consisting of a cotton print skirt and dark blue felt blouse and cape. She is seated in a reclining position holding green felt reins. When wound, the goose’s head bobs up and down and mouth opens and closes. Goose has brown glass eyes and the body of the bird is molded to the papier mache base. Formerly of the Mary Merrritt Museum. SIZE: 25-1/2” (65cm) t. CONDITION: Very good overall working condition. Clothing appears original with probable minor retouch to the body of the goose. Some surface dust and mold damage to the white mache goose. 1-10313 (2,000-3,000)
