“U.S. MAIL” HORSE DRAWN DELIVERY VAN ATTRIBUTED TO ALTHOF BERGMANN. An exceedingly rare toy, one of three known examples still in existence, an interesting concept that they actually used a van of this size during this time period. Most likely a vehicle like this was used in big cities and not for rural mail delivery. The seat and driver are removable from the roof of the toy. Rear door opens, obviously for mail storage. Once again, the patriotic theme of red, white and blue is quite visible and a common dramatic element exercised by Althof Bergmann. SIZE: 13″ l.
