UNCLE SAM “STRENGTH TESTER” BY STEVE GROWNOWSKI. Originally produced by the turn of the century by two different companies; Steve Grownowski made wonderful replicas of this scarce and desirable arcade machine. Copied down to the tee, these replica machines have become quite collectible in their own right. The premise being that a coin is deposited and originally you would test your strength by squeezing Uncle Sam’s hand and the dial would measure the strength of your grip. The original stands featured a wooden base with cast iron feet and iron casting of Uncle Sam with the dial in his chest and a very fancy banner-style marquee behind Uncle Sam. The replica has the wooden base and aluminum Uncle Sam. The wooden cabinet has a natural wood finish, the castings and marquee replicate the original paint work. SIZE: 74″ x 20″ x 14″. CONDITION: Overall very fine and functional. 1-9541 (1,750-2,750)
