17-1/2″ SECOND SERIES PORTRAIT JUMEAU. Early 1880s French child doll with beautiful blue threaded glass eyes, mauve shading on upper lids, well painted eyelashes and eyebrows and incised “7” at the base of the neck. The early French body is unmarked but has straight wrists and 8 separate ball joints. The antique pale blue silk costume has silk ribbons at the neckline and at the bust, the shoes are antique brown leather with brown silk ribbon rosettes and she wears an antique blond mohair wig with bangs, but cut short in the back. SIZE: 17-1/2″ (44cm).
