ANTIQUE DUTCH DOLLS’ HOUSE. Circa 1860. This large Victorian dolls’ house is stained in mahogany, has three sections that open from the front and rests on a soapstone base. There is a lovely front entrance with a glass transom over the door. A square bay window on the second floor is above the entrance. The roof has fish scale shingles, 4 chimneys and 3 dormers. The interior has four front rooms with two halls with an incredible curved staircase. There are three moveable partitions to allow access to rooms in the back of the house. (There is a back opening to the house which is hinged and opens in two sections) The detail on the front four rooms includes four faux marble fireplaces, interconnecting doors between rooms, two cut out alcoves with sinks and faucets in the two bedrooms on the second floor. The wallpapers were replaced about forty years ago. The house was electrified. Doorbell not working. SIZE: 40″ t x 36″ w x 31″ d. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ.
