15-1/2″ BEBE MOTHEREAU. Extremely unique and a rare doll most commonly found on composition bodies, this particular example appears to be all original and on a straight wristed metal body, marked “B4M” on rear of head. As typical with most dolls she is jointed at shoulders, elbows, knees and hips, but the body being of hollow metal construction and strung accordingly. Fine pale bisque with extreme threaded blue paperweight eyes, slight mauve shadow and a mouth similar to a Mona Lisa smile further enhance the originality of her French bebe costume and skin wig!
