RARE ONE-DOLLAR MILLS HALF TOP SLOT MACHINE. Circa 1940’s-1950’s, it is most unusual to find a Mills dollar machine, let alone any dollar machine, from this time period. This particular example has the fish-mouth opening to accept the coin and three dollars are visible in the escalator window. Due to the size of the silver dollar, Mills at this point in time had no functional working jackpot, and thus a card was displayed in the jackpot window informing the player X-amount would be paid if jackpot was achieved. The frontal design is a diamond front, and the castings as well as the wood cabinet have been professionally restored. Machine comes with a finely crafted oak stand with polished aluminum legs and owl adorning front door. SIZE: 16″ x 16″ x 24″. CONDITION: Overall excellent restored condition, rear bonnet appears to be a replacement. 1-8686 JL (1,500-2,500) Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Fall 2008 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The prices noted here after the auction are considered unofficial and do not become official until after the 46th day. |
