5¢ JENNINGS “MINTS OF QUALITY” SLOT MACHINE. O.D. Jennings, known for their usual motif Dutch Boy/Dutch Girl, once again employed these two figures on their handsomely embossed aluminum castings. Lower front casting features these two figures along with a display of three columns of Jennings mints. The purpose of the mint vendor was to circumvent gambling laws and give the illusion that a player was actually purchasing mints rather than gambling. It is clearly stated on the front casting that you receive a package of Quality Mints and possibly some premium checks (cash payout). The small window indicates your payout, thus two cherries would give you two checks, three bars would give you 20 checks. Cabinet is handsomely constructed of quartersawn paneled oak with two cast aluminum rear doors. Machine retains its original reel strips although lightly soiled. Machine comes with a finely crafted oak stand with polished aluminum legs and owl adorning front door. SIZE: 15-1/2″ w x 15-1/2″ d x 23″ h.
