MARKLIN LIVE STEAM TRAIN ENGINE WITH ORIGINAL BOX. A wonderful opportunity to buy a “fresh to the market” find, descended from grandfather to father to son, this 1 gauge American Outline live steam engine and tender is contained within its original wooden crate. A family piece for many, many years bought new and passed from grandfather to son to grandson before being consigned to this auction. Having been fired up a few times but not for decades, this rare 4-6-2 live steam engine and tender is in as found, untouched condition. Paint loss primarily due to overheating of fire box located by engine cab. Engine and tender appear complete and a small box containing various accoutrements such as a tin pan for loading water, hook for removing burner mechanism, extra gaskets, original oil can and a small black bag that would have contained gaskets and hook. Painted in dark green with lighter green pinstriping, this handsome engine is equipped with a bevy of working side rods, railings and a steam gauge extending from rear of engine cab as well as a reversing mechanism on left side of engine. Printed on right side of engine cab is “H. R. 4021”. SIZE: Approx 28″ l. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good with alligatoring to paint finish.
