GUNTHERMANN CAROUSEL WITH ANIMALS & RIDERS. Seldom found this hand painted and lithographed carousel which had a windup mechanism with plink-plank-plunk music has animals with riders but also several people seated on benches enjoying the ride also. Lithographed scenes on center column are enhanced by a hand painted awning with fine edge trimmings and a flag and cupola on top. Originally containing five animals and riders, the four remaining animals are suspended by a gilt twisted wire dropping down from the awning superstructure. SIZE: 9-1/4″ t. CONDITION: Lacking windup mechanism, some loss to hand painted area most noticeable on awning top. One horse with rider is detached, but present. 1-8128 (1,000-1,500)
