CAST IRON & WOOD EARLY AUTOMOBILE. A horseless carriage simulating a turn of the century vehicle with a large friction weight that would propel the vehicle forward. Finely detailed cast iron canopy and kickboard with a female driver and her Buster Brown type passenger atop a wooden chassis enameled in red with pinstripes. Of unknown manufacture, perhaps by Scheibel or Dayton Friction. A rather charming piece. SIZE: 6-1/4″ l. CONDITION: Very good. 1-6981 (400-600)
